Beware of Ripoff, and discourteous coustmer servise

My husband and I are military and were approached by Ed — of Metropolitan Educ. Enterprises in the month of September. He proceeded to tell us about all these great deals that he had to offer.including dictionarys, medical books, CLEP manuals, children's books and software.

After signing the contract and agreeing to have 80 dollars deducted out of our account for everything we ordered, we had to wait 2 months to recieve our stuff to find out that none of the stuff was up to date and some things were missing. (example: children's books were 20 years old and software was for windows 95)

Upon attempting to contact them about the stuff that we ordered, we were told that they could send us boxes to mail the stuff back to our expence. We never heard back from them untill May.

On 8 May 06 we were contacted by Mr. & saying that we owed 1,600.00 by the 15th of May. According to him we had not made any payments at all since Dec. 05. After questioning him and trying to find a reasonable explination for his request, not only was he rude (telling me to find a better paying job etc.) he was also changing the due date and the amount due. Eventually he hung up on me.

One day later he contacted me again saying that if I didn't pay 635.00 by the 15th of May that he would sue me. Before I was able to say anything he hung up on me again. The funny part about this is a week before we recieved a statement saying that they would debt our account for 158.00.

Making sure that everything had been paid to that date, we checked our bank statements and sure enough they had been taking out the money as agreed to in the contract.

I don't know who they are or what they think they are doing, but if you are ever approached by someone representing Metropolitan Enterprises (espically if you are military) BEWARE, it's a ripoff.
