I was directed to your site when researching after receiving one of the church's (not!) letters. There were many good comments from others receiving letters.

I am a little troubled by those responses offering support by stating that no money is required to recive the blessings mentioned. As I read the letter, it most definitely leads one to belive that without the donation the blessings will not occur. They sugar coat it and are very sly with their psychology, but it is there.

From the letter; "God always documents your reaction to his messenger. Obedience opens God's heart to you. Our prayer is that we agree in faith, a financial blessing will be affirmed." And how do we show our obedience?"You can only grasp God's financial deliverance by obedience to his instruction." "We feel the Lord has directed us to pray over your Miracle Blessing Pack, claiming fulfillment of this ordained financial blessing on your behalf."

In other words, send us money in the envelope provided, we will pray over it and a financial blessing will be ordained for you.

There are other parts of the letter that have the same misleading innocent sounding message. Through their faith, the golden path to blessings can become revealed to you, etc.

I don't know about you others, but the God I pray to does not require monetary proof of my faith. He will always provide for our needs. Prayer does work. Sometimes the answeer is no, but that is when our faith is determined. When we pray, we do not get a leg up or any extra assistance by greasing the Father's hand. Do not send these people money. They prey on innocence and sometimes ignorance. Pray for them and toss the rest away.
