Sirius Rebate Ripoff

During the Christmas timeframe I bought a Sirius Satellite Radio that came with a $50 mail-in rebate. I sent in all the proper documentation (very clean and complete with the Best Buy receipt and rebate form) and received a card saying that my UPC did not match. I then sent a follow-up letter with copies of all the proper documentation to the Rebate Center and copied Sirius Customer Service. I received a call from Sirius Customer Service and played phone tag for a couple of weeks.in my final message to them I left all the necessary comments and asked for a return call, only if they did not have enough information or did not intend to honor the rebate.
I have heard nothing and am now 7 weeks past my follow up letter. Clearly there is a generic problem here (see other consumer complaint web sites).
I am calling one last time tomorrow and then intend to call the news magazine program that ran the piece on rebate scams back in February.
I will collect names and provide them with a contact list. If you wish to join, please let the editor of this site know. I do not have time for all this but intend to put their name up in lights if these rebates are not honored.
