CRC - Community Reading Club Of Houston Texas Ripoff will not cancel account want CC-Debit first

I got a call from these folks in December. The marketer did not introduce herself as a telemarketer, but posed as a friend. Here is how the conversation went:

Me: "Hello?"
??: "..."
Me: "Hello?"
??: "Hi! This is *I forgot her name*, how's it going?"

Well, I know its my fault for falling for it, but I ended up being stronghandled into 4 magazine subscriptions for $82 a month.

After trying to call there 1-800 number to cancel, I could never reach anyone at their customer service center. A month past. I notice $82 was charged to my Credit card. Still no magazines.

Finally fed up, I changed my credit card. No more charges to my card. But now I get phone calls almost daily for my "delinquent account". Not only that, but I start receiving magazines I did not even ask for, which led me to believe I was being charged for services I didn't want to begin with (yes I know. Should have known better.) Every single time they call, they ask:

"Hello sir! You have a balance due with us. Would you like to pay with Credit or Debit?" Straight to the con. Trying to get the card info right away. This is ridiculous. If someone has a subsciption to a magazine, and doesn't pay it, the service is usually canceled. This applies to all businesses (insurance, utilities, Internet service). What kind of Mafioso business is this? I've heard all the other storied with this company and another company (National Magazine Exchange) and it seems like all they want is to suck you dry, so they can keep getting "business" from these Magazine publishers, who probably don't have a official business relationship with CRC or NME.

Any way, I received a "bill" of sorts for my delinquent account today. Looks almost genuine accept for the raised ink and no postage paid envelope (there's a envelope, but I have to pay postage, which I WILL NOT do, because I will not give these people ANY MONEY. EVER.) I'm almost tempted to pay it off by check, if only to get this company to stop harrasing me. But I'm afraid all it would do is make me lose money, and continue getting harrassed for more "delinquent payments".

Does anyone know how I can get these people to leave me alone? I've already registered my number onto the Federal No Call List. I just want some peace...
