I was contacted today, Feb. 11, by a man with an Indian accent named Jack Andrews; his Employees # is 1869. I was told that I had been selected for a grant from the government for a minimum of 12,500.00. (I had actually applied for a grant in that amount so I thought it was real.) He was generally pleasent but very hard to understand. After giving him my information (stupid me) I was transfered to a supervisor, also with an Indian accent named Oscar Anthony, his Employee # is GG4299. He was just as nice as "Jack" and I reviewed my information with him as well, which he said was recorded. They notified me that they were not a government agent and their service would have a one time charge of $59.95 ("because they don't work for free") or for an additional fee of $299.95 I could get their services every year. I said NO to that thank goodness.

Once the whole deal was finished I told him that I DID NOT, under any circumstances what any amount to come out of my account until I called them back, no matter what had been said for the recording, he said that I just had to call them Monday and say that I just don't have the funds in the account and that would be fine. But I tested the number and it is worthless as far as I can tell (The number appears to be registered to a company called Global Crossing.). I wanted to research their company to make sure that they were real, what I found was everything but. So I have called my bank and had my account "flaged" and labled that only specific companies were allowed to take money and everyone else was a scam.

Monday I will be closing my accout, opening a new one, contecting my ATM cards to the new account, and having all my outstanding checks redirected to this new account. What a major hassle.

Have your account flaged by:
Calling the number on your checks
go into the account inquiry section and then press "0" and talk to a real person. (I hope that is right)
Also because Saturday and Sunday are not normal business days NO account postings occure except for ATM withdrawles (So I was told by the rep I talked to.) I was not able to "Freeze" my account over the phone, that has to be done at the branch office. Hope this helps someone out.
