Ripoff I paid John $3,000 for bathroom renovation, he worked 1 day & never came back, had to go to court to get money back

Gave John $500.00 deposit, after working 1 day he asked for $2500.00 more to continue. His wife called next day saying he won't be coming back. She complained I was making changes from original estimate. Who doesn't do this? Upon his 1st visit to give estimate I was told he had his own seperate electrician & plumber. At 1st day of work I was informed John did the electrical work which is not what I was told initially. When I asked him if he was licensed, which he wasn'he began his bad attitude. I had to wait 3 weeks for another contractor to finish the work. Leaving my house in shambles for over a month. The whole job sto take 1 week. I then had to start the long, drawn out task of going to court. Several months later I got my $ back but soooo much stress involved.
I never had a contractor who complained of changes being made before the work wasdone. They simply changed the bill at the end. John also expected me to purchase all of the material. When he had to do it I was putting them out & taking up too much of their time.

I never had to supply my own material before. I think that is absurd!!!
