Misleading Marketing job ripoff Minneapolis Plymouth Minnesota

I responded to a job listing for an entry-level marketing position at W P Direct. After sending my resume via email I received an invitation to meet for an interview in their Plymouth office. I was happy to accept, and had no reason to be skeptical except for the obvious lack of experience of the girl arranging the interview.
Their office was very sparsely decorated and looked very unprofessional. After a brief wait there I was invited to the manager's office to talk. The manager, Sherrie, looked very young (she later told me that she was 25) but seemed confident. I was very skeptical about the company and job by the time the interview started; I was actually wondering if she was going to say that I need to "invest" some money to participate in the company, but became encouraged when she said that the "Marketing" position that I might be offered would have a salary.
A second interview was scheduled which consisted of me "shadowing" one of their "Marketing" employees during a workday. I carpooled with Gabrielle and Lauren to watch them work. Once we arrived at a poor part of St. Paul (North of 494 on University Ave.) they opened the trunk, grabbed stuffed animals, cheap watches, and "leather" jackets and proceeded to walk into every open business on the street and solicit employees and customers.
The only reason that the W P Direct employees didn't try to sell their junk to the people in the pornography store was that the door was locked. The most ironic part of the day was watching a W P Direct employee try to sell cheap stuffed animals to the clerks at the Dollar Store. The other highlight was watching the W P Direct employee try to sell his junk to the staff at the day labor office in this poor neighborhood.
I was very angry with W P Direct for their dishonesty through the entire recruiting process. I was appalled to watch the shameless street peddling of its employees, and would advise anyone to avoid doing any business with W P Direct.
