I was an avid member of the Jehovahs Witnesses for 6 years until 1998. During that time, a man by the name of Troy Bryant subjected me to a reign of verbal abuse. Calling me names, threatening me, being verbally abusive to other Witnesses' children. I would repeatedly tell others about his abuse, and all would say, oh, that is just Troy, he is just that way. Well for the remainder of my witness membership, I put up with his abuse. People laughed about it. It wasn't funny. After my departure, I found out that abuse is widespread throgh out the organization. People told me that I should keep silent about Mr Bryants abuse, but no more. From what I understand he is still doing it to this day. Silent no more.
