Maxwell Marketing
Ripoff waste of time unless you like to sell pencils, lies, lame

Miscellaneous

I went to this place because they apparently lie in all 6 billion ads they have on every job website known to man. I applied for a Marketing Associate position, which basically means you go door to door selling pens, pencils and other crap people would rather go to any office supply store for.

The first interview felt like a waste, i was interviewed with another person and it lasted about 15 minutes. I barely got to talk and they told us "this is not a sales position" HUGE LIE right there "its a management training program."

So i went home and they immediately called me for a second interview, told me it would take the whole day, 9am-5pm and lunch will be provided. I got to the interview with about 10 others, and we were called out one by one. The poor brainwashed soul I was stuck with kept reassuring me that this was NOT a sales position (mind you he had only been there for TWO weeks!)
He told me our assignment was to go 60 miles each way from Braintree, in traffic, both ways. We talked a little and he was so brainwashed that it was really difficult to talk. We got to the little town where we began walking door to door selling, yep you guessed it, office supplies. I think he only sold to 2-3 places out of at least 40.

He was too busy to remember about lunch, but finally we stopped for pizza (uh thanks for the rush).
He couldn't wait to get out to sell more becuase this is why;

Maxwell only pays you commission, they do not pay for gas or mileage (we drove 120 miles that day, worked from 9-6:30pm), and he probably only made about $30 that day. He had to do this everyday for a set amount of time. Supposidly the further up you get in that company the more comission you make, whatever.

AT the end of the second interview (could they keep you ANY longer?) you take a lame test, I felt so insulted by the test that it sort of questioned my education. Any idiot can sell pencils...

They lie, they are not marketing, its door to door sales. You will learn nothing if you are looking to learn what real advertising/marketing is

Stay away from them unless its your thing.
