Mentoring Of America - Convinced 91-year-old father to approve credit card for about $6500.00 by phone ripoff Van Nuys

My father is 91 and hard of hearing. He was persuaded by the TV ads and called "John Beck's Amazing Profits". Subsequently he was called repeatedly. He finnally approved a transaction of about $6500.00.

I have cancelled his credit card. (I have Power of Attorney for him.) John Beck's Amazing Profits promises a full return, but their tactics are unreliable, requiring a signature of a "refund agreement" and claimng that "another department" handles cancellation of funds.

I am actively seeking a dispute with the credit card. It has a pending charge that has not been processed, but I assume it will be processed, since my father also signed for materials received, which I am returning promptly.

I talked only briefly with a "customer support" person, and John Beck, Senior called me. (If you believe that, you deserve to sign up for this.) Say nothing to them and follow good legal advice in communicating with them for refund or cancellation of charges.

My opinion is that they are experts at sounding (and may even have convinced themselves that) they are legitimate. They will try to make you feel quilty as though they are not really that bad. They convinced my elderly father that they could help him make great money with their scam.

I will pursue all avenues available to expose them and to report them to legal authority. No legitimate TV station should broadcast their advertisement. They tried to prey on my 91 year-old father.
