Ripoff. Posing as a US Ferderal Grant Service

I recieved a call on August 2 from a company called U.S. Grant Interactive claiming that I could get up to $40,000 in grant money for only a one time payment of $269.00. I wasn't thinking about what I already knew, which was that Federal Grants are FREE, no payment necessary. I called to cancel and they said i could only cancel within 3 days after making the agreement, but I was told that I could cancel within 3 days of making the payment. Right now I'm placing a stop on the check that they would have recieved. REMEMBER FEDERAL GRANTS ARE FREE! If ever approached with this offer, hang up the phone. IF ever approached with anything of the sort, contact the school you are planning to attend and ask or grant or financial aid offices. I am posting this on August 15. Learn from my mistake, research before making a decision.
