Don't give your account number to! Another credit card ripoff scam

The worst company you can imagine is Telmark Consumer Services. They will call you and say that they offer a credit card, a gift certificate of 300$ and a free vacation for two. "Only" for 200 $ one-time fee from your checking account.in reality they send you some membership and a catalog. From the catalog you cannot really buy something valuable. If you try to cancel the membership it's not really possible. My experience with that was terrible. First you stay at least one hour in hold. If finally someone answers, she or he tries to explain you that you have to wait until some misterious credit card will appear. The trick is that they say that until 30 days pass and then you cannot cancel any more. When I asked the name of the person (who was eating during the conversation) she hung up on me, before telling me to call tomorrow.
Definitely the worst nightmare I ever had together with MCI local services.
