AP9 Protection Plus, ripoff

Knowing I had only made one purchase using my Visa Ann Taylor Chase card, I was surprised to find "AP9*B24PROTECTPLUS" with a charge of $179.95 on my credit card. I called and they do not answer calls nor do they even say who they are on the machine. When I contacted the credit card company (CHASE), the idiot customer service reps would just forward me to their phone number-like they were somehow connected with them and just happened to be able to forward me on. I'm concerned that the credit card companies have some connection with these schemes and are just being lame ducks. They are sending me an affadafit to sign and will only be responsible for the one charge that I KNOWINGLY approved. But this is enough for me to cancel this card completely.
