Ripoff magazine subscriptions

On October a gentleman came by my apartment complex selling magazine subcriptions in order to win a trip to Cancun. Unfortunately, for me, I accepted to purchase two subcriptions. Here I am on April 26 and still no magazines.

To top it off, I received a collection letter stating that my check bounced and now I owe the collection company. My bank charged me and now this collection agency is after me.

Threedom Sales managed to cash my check and here I sit like a fool wondering how I could fall for it. Is there any hope out there to try and catch these people and prevent them from ripping off others out there?
