A greedy dealer ripped off my 21 year old friend

On April 9, my friend needed a car desperately. She wentto JD Byrider and spoke with a salesman who was adamant about selling her a car at first. After the salesman made like he was doing my friend a huge favor, she decided to purchase a 99 Ford Escort.

The agreement was for my friend to pay $700 dollars down on the car, in that which she did pay 700 in cash. After she would have been finished paying for the car, the total cost including intrest would have been a lil over $14,000.00. Now, from my understanding, a 99 Ford Escort is not even worth that much money even if it was brand new off the lot.

The greedy salesman was so excited about getting a sale and ripping off my friend, that she had to remind him that he had forgotten to take her money for a down payment, not only that, the greedy salesman allowed my friend to actually drive the car off the lot with absolutely no insurance whatsoever! That was illegal.

After my friend found out that she was ripped off and that the greedy salesman could get in big trouble for pulling a stunt like that, she went back that following Monday to return the car and recieve her money back. The dealer is refusing to refund her money.

Instead they keep insisting that its her fault and if she doesnt come up with the insurance soon, they'll repo her car and keep her down payment. They ripped my friend off completely, they saw a young girl who was in desperate need for a car and tried to rip her off so bad that they made illegal mistakes to make a sale and are now trying to say its her fault that the dealer let her drive the car with no proof of insurance.

This is a lesson learned, and an ordeal that wont be let go of until the money is returned and the matter is solved!!!
