Ripoff unauthorized subscription service

Noticed three charges for $49.95 on my wifes credit card. I called them and "Ryan" told me to send him a letter stating that I had spoken to the Federal Trade Commission and was going to file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. Then they would cancel our subscription that we never signed up for. He said he had a voice recording of my wife authorizing the purchase. When I asked to hear it, he said he couldn't do that unless my wife had asked for it.

Of course I am at work and not able to get her on the phone. He said that the subscription woul dbe cancelled but that the charges already on the credit card woul dhave to be paid and would not be returned. He was very rude and said he did not want to argue with me and the only way to cancel our subscription now was to send them a cancellation letter, like he said to do. This is the 3rd account that has been hit with subscription charges.

These people are very convincing and even talked me in to giving them my information. They call us at least twice a day. They always ask for my wife. If I answer to phone or she hands it to me knowing who it is, they hang up on us.

I have filed FTC and Attorney General complaints with No. S 1 and 2 above. With number 1 we did get our "Contract" cancelled and they are supposed to send us a refund check in about 3 weeks. My bank has already re-imbursed us the money from No. 1 and 2. We have also registered for the "Do Not Call" List at www.FTC.com.
