Ripoff major fraud! Beware! Chicagooak Lawn

My father in law has a diagnosed chemical inbalance, known commonly as bipolar disorder. He does not work since he cannot recall too much, as he is on lithium, and stays at home. But he still wants to make money, and gets tons of mail from do-it-at-home businesses. So he received a flyer from Lifetime Solutions, based out of Oak Lawn, Illinois (and last I heard they moved to Schaumburg, Il.), offering a certain percentage back on returns for envelope stuffing.

So in a whim, he sent 15,000 to the company from a bank check (had to take out a loan), addressed to Lifetime Solutions. The CEO (purportedly) is Karen Jackson. We never received ANYTHING. Weeks upon weeks went by, and nothing had ever come in the mail. So we called the number (it was a 718 area code number I believe) and still nothing. We constantly got the voice-mail answering machine, left multiple messages, etc., but they were never returned.

Their former website, www.lifetimesolutions.com, is gone. They simply stole our money and ran. We called the BBB in Chicago, they sent them a letter (after charging us $95 to file the report) threatening to bring action against them, and that letter went unanswered. I contacted the Attorney General's office, and they said that there was nothing they could do, just simply report it.

In short, we lost 15,000 and are still paying it back today. Now I believe this scam is still around but simply under a different name.

In terms of identification, I can only say that Karen Jackson and her husband purportedly run the company, and that she is an African-American female. I have never seen her.

We are looking to initiate a law suit for consumer fraud, but are unable to locate her.
