Merchants' Credit Guide
Co. Ripoff!

I too have recieved a letter from Merchants' and upon reading it my red flags went up. I do not remember this debt and my credit report does not show any collection activity. The collection letter was in reference to an account with ATT Communications, Inc. But isn't "ATT" legally named as "AT&T" - that was my first clue in that this may be a scam. I am interested to know if anyone has successfully disputed these letters and if so what was your eventual outcome?

I do not want to this to affect my credit and I am afraid if ignore it, then it may do just that. But then what if I try to dispute it and in the end they get information that I do not want them to have? Secondly, it seems there should some legal bureau where this can be reported. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. I am glad I put Merchants' in the search engine to look it up. The fact that nothing legitimate came up about it assures me that my gut feeling was right on.
