Asset Acceptance, Brian Cash
Ripoff fraudulant billing

Miscellaneous

On January 19, I recieved a letter from "Asset Acceptance LLC" stating that they were a collection agency and that I had a balance with them. The letter offered a discount settlement if I paid before a certain date. I called the number printed on the letter to get to the bottom of it, and they stated the balance was for a VISA credit card and that they couldn't release the address, name, phone number or anything but the name of which it was created under. I asked what date the credit card was created and they replied in the year 1990.

This is impossible, because I am currently 18 years old in the year 2005. I was only 4 years old at the time this "credit card" was created. Even at 18 I have trouble applying for things because of my age due to an insufficiant credit history.

I have dismissed this letter as a fraudulant claim and advise anyone else recieving a similar item to use caution, they were trying to get me to pay a balance of 3070.54 that was originally 1180 something. At 18 I have two credit cards, and neither of them have a charge limit greater than 600 dollars!!! There's no way I could have spent $1180 at the age of 4.
