I helped a single mother, who was a victim of Hurricane Sandy, check on her credit when she moved here. I allowed her to use my Visa to get the $1 credit report from scoresense.com. Neither my friend nor I read the "terms and conditions, " and we were unaware that scoresense.com was charging my Visa $29.95 per month for 8 months. I thought the charge on my Visa was my husband's, so I didn't think much of it on my Visa statements. When I realized what happened and complained, score sense.com reimbursed me for 1/2 of the fees ($120), and I filed a claim with Visa. Visa said that I waited too long to file the dispute, so they couldn't help me. I am out $120 that I don't have lying around. Why would anyone need to pay $29.95 per month to check a credit report once or twice? I wouldn't. Scoresense.com DID NOT have permission to charge my account. I don't have $120 lying around for this. I am out of options.
