I've participated in a survey where they sent me a check for $1.850 that I was asked to cash and send $1,550 to Suzette Price in Battle Creek, MI 49037 via Western Union.
For my participation I received $150.
Then after the survey I was told that Suzette Price was out of town on a humanitarian project and I needed to go back to Western Union and have the money redirected to Cecilia Angel Mena in Harlingen, TX 78550 which I did immediately.
However, this morning I got a call from my bank indicating that the check for $1,850 bounced and was suspected to be fraudulent.
Is there any recourse that I have to recover the money I've lost in what appears to be a "scam"?
