Ripoff! Consumer fraud! Offered false credit and requested personal information which they used to remove $249.00 from my checking account. Champlain, New York or Canada

Centurion Financial is a rip-off. One evening in December I was called by a Centurion Financial representitive. This individual promised a credit card with no interest and a $2000.00 limit. The catch was that this credit card required an up-front fee of $249.00 which would be debited from my checking account.

As the holidays were approaching and I was becoming desperate I took the call and after disclosing my information (which was recorded) I was told my credit card was in the mail.

It is the beginning of January and I have had some time to mull this over. It is pretty easy to figure out that I have been scammed (out of what little money I have).
My attempts to contact the company to request my money have turned out fruitless. My bank has told me they are not able to refund my money because I disclosed personal account information.

The FTC has basically said, good luck, we get calls like this everyday and we don't have the time, personel or money to pursue this matter. I contacted the Consumer Credit Protection Agency and they had a similar response to the FTC. I contacted Canadian officials who did not return my calls. I contacted the Attorney General Office in New York and they are sending paperwork (this seems the most promising so far although my hope is all but lost).

What can I do? What can we do? I want to take action but what can be done? Is a class action lawsuit realistic? Where do I/we go from here? I am fighting. I could need information and advice.
