Miscellaneous

I was contacted through my house phone that one of my computers was sending huge amounts of error messages and fault reports to the help desks related to Windows.
I talked to an man with an Indian English accent about this and after some checking as to which computer it was, it seems the first one was it. He confirmed to me several times that he was with a company called GlobalITHelp and that they worked as a partner of Windows.

After pushing me to run a couple of prompts related to the CPU performance and how bad it was, made me count all the PNF's in the inf map and said it is usually only twenty (which now I know isn't true) etc he directed me to the website to purchase a package, because my computer could go down any minute.

Reluctantly I agreed to pay the sum of €153 (or $200) for a pachakge to remotely access and sweep my computer clean. All they did was install Advanced System Care 6, which only costs $19.99.

At this point in time I only have a simple "info@" email adres and have sent them an angry, but polite email with the request to respond within a week, or I will take other measures.

The biggest problem I have now is that they required me to sent an email to their info@ adres as an authorization for the bank transfer, and it I'm not sure if it might hold up or not.

This morning my cousin got the same kind of situation, while I already told her yesterday. She hung up on time, because she doesn't even own a computer. This is the reason I feel this is a scam and I want my funds back any way possible.
