Miscellaneous

I bought my 50' hose May 7th (about 8 weeks ago) from a "As Seen On TV" Store In Centralia, WA. About 50 miles from me. I have used it 4 times including yesterday. I have always had it hooked to my lawn rotary sprinkler. I turned on the water and had it spraying the area I wanted and it was working fine, I went out about 45 minutes later and saw the hose had split near the middle opening up about a lengthwise 6" split and my water was pouring out it. I don't have my receipt as I was out of town and usually don't keep receipts on something like a hose, not that it would have done me any good as I just got off the phone with a man in Customer Service 1-973-287-5160 EST, he said I would have to return it to the store with receipt, I said I don't have the receipt and the company should make it good and I could send a photo as they should know the fabric can't take the pressure and split. I told him I would pay more in gas to drive 100 miles round trip and the wholesaler should make it good as it's a defect in the material and the company should know to make it stronger. He said no it has to go to the company, I said I have managed 8 retail stores and you don't always have to take it back to the store on a mfg. Defect, he wouldn't budge so I hung up. Looking at the other blogs it looks as though they have a lot of complaints that have to do with poor quality. The company should make them good just not the retailer. Don't buy!
