I was living in Las Vegas and met Brad Smith and his fiancee Felicia Lee at my place of work. Talked to brad several times mostly about motorcycles when he told me he had a bike he was selling for a friend. He was living in Chicago at the time but was relocating to Las vegas to open a shop. I paid him $5000 at the time and received a receipt for the bike. He was (supposedly) shipping his inventory out there from his shop Sinister Cycles (Chicago). I saw him regularly but never saw a bike, there was always an excuse but since I saw him often it never really was an issue. This was in September '99, in November he called me frantically when I was out of the country and said he needed to borrow some money because he'd been robbed. I told him that I was out of the country and couldn't do anything. When I returned he told me that he'd borrowed $1000 from one of my coworkers and asked if I'd pay him back. I did and thats basically when he fell off the face of the earth. I'd call and IF he did answer it was nothing but excuses until finally I couldn't reach him any more. He had told me he was moving to SC to try to get his now wife to reconcile and thats when I'd heard he opened a Sinister Cycle there. I never could reach him so I filed a report with BBB which in turn got me threatened by his wife. I've come to find out that he owes people money all over the US. If anyone needs testimony in court from me please contact me.
