Miscellaneous

On Sunday night I came across the women's health site (www.womenshealthdaily.com/slim) through a link on Facebook. After reading the article and reviews i decided to order the free trial bottle linked on the site page. After entering all my information and clicking "no thanks" through a series of special offer pages for additional products i was brought to a "thank you for your purchase page" Never was i given a total or brought to a final order review page. I waited for a confirmation e-mail and received nothing. The next morning i accessed my bank account and was shocked to see a pending charge from the company for $145.00. I called my bank and they told me i could file a dispute once the charge officially went through, until then they recommended i call the company and try to resolve it with them. Well with the number my bank gave me for the company, (1-800-969-0121) i called and was put through to a representative named Martha. While on hold i happened to come across the usacomplaints.com website and found over 40 complaints matching my problem exactly. When i explained my dispute to Martha she told me i must have been confused because they don't offer a free trial with just shipping charges and that i had ordered a 5 month supply for the price of a 3 month supply. So i also went back into my web history to pull up the site i saw the night before and low and behold it was a completely different website down to the color pattern. I then proceeded to tell Martha that i was not confused and was sure this was a scam and i wanted to cancel my order and wanted my money back. She told me the order had already been shipped and i couldn't cancel, but for my "confusion" they would give me a 25% refund and let me keep the bottles for $108.00 since they knew i had weight loss goals in mind. Now in my opinion a company would not offer you a discount if they didn't know what i was talking about and thought i was confused with what i had read. I then proceeded to ask for a supervisor and Martha stated she was the supervisor. Her attitude changed completely and she became a nightmare to deal with. I refused her offer and told her i wanted my money back and to stop trying to sell me their fake product. Martha then told me i could send the bottles back as soon as i received them and i would be issued a refund within 3-5 business days from when they receive the package. She gave me an RMA # and told me to send it to their Fulfillment Center at 14603 East Moncrieff Place, Unit 100, aurora Colorado 80011. I will be doing this the minute i receive the package. Also my bank recommended i close my debit card because a company has authorization to collect funds from an account for up to 6 months from the original purchase. That is what i did this way there would be no further "confusion."
