Miscellaneous

I now understand the vast difference in ratings for this site. The first experience I had with Threadup was as a buyer. I bought two pairs of Hanna Andersson pants and recieved them in a reasonable (if not exactly impressive) amount of time. They were in very good condition (although certainly not "practically new" as threadup likes to claim) and with the coupon code I used, it was a deal. I decided to use the clear out bag they sent instead of using Ebay for some of my kids clothes. The processing took a couple of weeks and the payout for the bag was reasonable when I considered shipping costs (which threadup pays). Satisfied with the legitImacy of the site, I sent another bag FULL of my kids' nicest outgrown clothing (as well as some of my own). After shipping the bag, I ran across some of these review sites. I SO wanted to believe that these reviewers just didn't have high enough standards for preowned clothing. I wanted to believe that, but I didn't. My bag was finally processed after about a month. For a bag stuffed with brands like Hanna Andersson, Mini Boden, Janie and Jack, and Baby Gap, I recieved $14. Oo. Fourteen dollars! That also included some name brand women's clothing. If you are reading this thinking that I must not understand their high standards, let me assure you that is not the case. Don't let yourself be fooled like I was. That clothing was immaculate. Like other reviewers, I noticed that the "best" pieces weren't even accounted for. There is definitely something sketchy going on recently at Threadup.
