2nd Generation Stairs
Consumer Report

Miscellaneous

Terrible workmanship on staircase. Refusing to make correction on a staircase that was poorly installed. Along with the banister that is a hazard. It was installed touching wall side of lower landing of 2nd fl flooring. One can not hold banister for aprox 3-5 inches on way up or down without getting ones finger stuck.
They also installed the left footing of the riser directly over a large whole left in the floor by the old banister post after dismantling old staircase. They did little to nothing to correct the issue before installing staircase. Oh excuse me he put a 1" x 3" X 1/4" shim under footing (it floats around) The staircase in not level and it is 1 1/2" further out since they mounted rightside riser on top of the original rt riser. Making the issue of the banister and the leveling almost impossible to correct without totally dismantling original installation. Lastly misrepresented the damage and repair work I has to do after they finished ripping apart the old staircase. I do believe now my staircase was repairable. It was just easier for them and more profitable to replace it with a cheap poplar wood machine made cookie cutter box staircase.
