Miscellaneous

My email was hacked and Yahoo shut it down. When I called Yahoo they recommended I use Max PC Support that could fix the issue online and within one hour. When I called Max PC support, I spoke with only people who had Indian accents (at times difficult to understand). I told them I had MacKeeper and wondered if I could fix it myself. Their "technical" person said "No, MacKeeper cannot fix this." So I paid them the $299.95 to fix the problem. Whether they fixed anything I don't know. Two days later I got to thinking that perhaps they wrong and called MacKeeper. MacKeeper told me that their program is designed to fix infected files and that Max PC Support had misrepresented MacKeeper. MacKeeper had me run their scan, which I did, and found 8 infected files, which I subsequently destroyed using the program. So, I called Max PC Support and complained and asked for a refund. After speaking with several supervisors (all with Indian accents), they finally agreed to give me a refund. Despite repeated calls to them and assurances such a refund was processed, I have no refund and have now filed a complaint with my bank. Max PC Support is running a questionable operation. I would not do business with them.
