Club Fitness Rehoboth Beach DE, horrible customer service!

Around December my mother bought me a year gym membership as a Christmas present.instead of having a monthly fee she paid the full year upfront on her credit card. My mom made it clear that it was a gift and she only wanted a year the employee made no mention that after the year she would automatically be charged $60. So it came as a surprise when she checked her credit card statement and saw a $60 charge to reup, unfortunately she did not catch it until she was charged for three months following that. Then when she talks to the manager he tells her there is nothing he can do, we signed the contract, she will not be getting her money back and since she didn't give a 30 day notice she will be charged another 20 dollars. If we would had known that we would be charged again the new year of course we would of cancelled the membership. I understand that I should of paid closer attention to the fine print but I think that is something very important that the employees should verbally say during the sign up period. I've def learned my lesson.
