Miscellaneous

I received an email last week from Secret Shoppers saying that they were looking for individuals to become Agent shoppers. They asked for my name, address, gender, age, and occupation. I replied. Yesterday, I received a package in the mail with a piece of paper detailing my assignment along with a cashiers check for $1880.00. My assignment was to go to a Western Union and send a Money transfer of $1680.00 to a man named Leo Philip in Cork, Ireland. I was then supposed to email a copy of my receipt, the MTCN number, and a detailed report how long it took, customer service, etc to a John Barnes. I was to keep $200 for my pay. I called the bank that issued the cashiers check, NavyArmy Community Credit Union in Corpus Christi, TX, and explained to the clerk the details of the assignment as well as the appearance of the check. She told me that their phone number should be underneath their address to the right of the banks name, which it is not (the numbers 88-7854/3149 are there instead) and that it should be signed by Sarah O'Brien, which it is. She then looked up where their Cashier's check numbers are and it was way off. They haven't gotten to the number of my check yet. So, she told me it is a scam and not to cash the check. There is no phone number or address to contact Secret Shopper, just an email, payrollpositionltd001@gmail.com.
