Miscellaneous

Thinking I was calling SBC about e-mail issues, I dialed 800-941-7590.indian woman came on line in "boiler" room asking about problem. Told me to hold for supervisor who was expert. This person wanted access to my computer screen so they could diagnose. Came up with fact that I had a 3rd party IN my computer and ALL the computers in my system including ipads were infected — they would fix and guarantee for 6 mo. Showed me supposed computer language from my internals that I had 3rd party address. Said I would need "certified Network Specialist" — they would recommend GTH for $399.98 — I was very scared of this possibility and gave them AX # — they wanted another credit card, but I didn't have so they took it. I have stopped the card and AX will dispute the charge (thank god). It is terrible when they download their takeover software and are running around in your computer. Then they contacted ATT and wanted my ATT billing info. And pretended they were ME on the chat — changing all my e-mail passwords (which I could have done for nothing). Then they left the scene — and I was just there with the ATT chat. That is when it began to sink in that I was SCAMMED and my computer has been TAKEN OVER. I think I am OK with the $ but my computer has been very compromised! BEWARE. They gain access to your computer very quickly.
