Scam letter requesting $995 check be deposited and funds used to purchase pre-loaded cash cards. Check wasn't cashed after confirming here this was a scam, but just want to add more information so this gets highlighted for anyone else who may receive these letters.

Mail comes from Ontario, but the letter header has an address in Newport Beach, California. The attached check is from PNC Bank in Washington DC, with the company name Carolina Coastal, LLC, out of Hilton Head, SC.
