Though they claim that, there is no annual contract, but for some reason, when try to cancel your account, they would surprise you with a lot of things..
1. Never ever fall for the Personal trainers trap, because they charge very high, but the service is very poor. First to attract you, some experienced trainer would be talking to you, but then they would allot some fresh inexperience guy to you who is not worth 45$ per hour. They work only to attract the people and never try to retain the customer satisfaction. Once you get frustated, when try to cancel it, they would try to gain extra $ from you through cancellation policy / agreement etc..
You can very well tune yourself with the group classes available on the gym. My personal opinion is personal is not worth it.
Though they charge 45$ for the whole hour session, they would spend only 15 mins with you.

2. Dont ever sign the pad, they offer you while explaining about the membership. If you ever happen to sign, ask for physical copy of the document, ask them to drop you an email about any agreement and cacellation policies.

3. Dont agree for any annual club maintenance charge. Though you join at the end of the year, they would try to charge you 40$ for that year. You can negotiate and walk away.

4. When it comes to cancellation, the guy at the fitness center would instruct you to talk to somebody and wait for them to react/respond. Then they would send it to some other Agency and again they would instruct you to send cancellation email to an another email id. You would be frustated by then.

My personal opinion is, you can join any Gym with proper information about agreement/cancelation, but never go for any personal trainers (totally not worth it).

After all the monetary loss, you lose your peace of mind.

I feel all of the above information would help other customers, not to fall in to these traps.

I have not found any solution to this problem yet. I Feel, state govt should govern and monitor all these and proper innocent people falling in to these traps.
