Possible bad gasoline

I filled my tank at C&C chevron in Plaquemine Louisiana, and my gas gauge hasn't worked properly since. It constantly reads full when I know it isn't, but when I park the gauge goes down to where it should be, but once I start moving again it goes back to full. It has also read completely empty after filling up causing my check gauges light to stay on, then it bounces around making it very difficult to determine how much gas I have exactly, and I do not want to accidentally run out of gas, not knowing how close to empty I am, because my fuel pump is cooled by the gasoline running through it and if I run out of gas it will burn up and have to be replaced which is an extremely expensive repair. I only feel this could be connected to the gas because I have heard a similar incident a few years ago with Shell. A lot of peoples gas gauges were broken because of a gas problem and shell had to make the repairs.
