My mother and brother who live in a different state were contacted by a robo caller stating my name and claiming that I was being sued and a restraining order was being placed against me and that I have 24-48 hours to respond. I called the number and a man who sounded very unprofessional informed me I was being sued. When I asked for details he was vague. I asked for specifics and then he tried to say it was for a car loan from 2003 from United financial. I knew I did not have a car loan from them. The scary part was that he had my address, birthdate and SS#.
Now I am not sure how to protect myself. He tried to bully me and claimed he had copies with my signature on them so he knew it was me. When I asked him how he would know it was my signature he hung up on me.
