I had made an apppointment to take my 2003 Hummer H2 to their service dept. Because I had no brakes...& explained to them we had put a NEW master cylinder on it less than 2 months before... & was having the same problem... Brakes work for a short time & then they would go to the floor. NO BRAKES! I take it to their service dept. On March 12 @ 2:00 pm... They run a diagnostic...& they come & tell me 4:00 pm they feel that it is unsafe to drive. That it needs a new master cylinder... Front & rear brake pads... Front & rear rotors. And the cost would be $1149.80 & they didnt feel that it was safe for me to drive home... Cause I wanted to think about it? Angell assured me that I wouldnt have anything to worry about once they repaired it & I would have excellent brakes & she said "good as new" I ask what kind of guantee she said once they fix it if anything happens just bring it back & the parts are replaced free of charge" they stand behind their work. I also ask several times about the " master cylinder" since it was less than 2 months old...& I did ask several times & then i was to;d " Its just bad "?? So thinking they knew more then me... I agreed to leaving it to have it repaire. I called my sister to come pick me up... Angell said they may get started on front or rear pads... But they would have to get the Master Cylinder the nex day... The next day March 13 Angel called at 3:00 pm & said it was ready & I was good to go "perfect brake system" & the bill was actually going to be $10.00 cheaper... I call for someone to come to my house to pick me up & take me to their dealership... I get there at around 4:30... I pay $600.00 in cash & write a ck. # 3767 in the amount of $539.58... Its around 5:00 pm at this point. I didnt get 8 miles from the dealership & the ABS light & the traction control light comes on... They had already closed at this point... I call on Thursday morning & get Angell's voicemail... I leave her a message explaining to her what had happened... I never hear from her... I call her again in the afternoon... She said she had called me back & left a message? I never got the message... So she says swing by the dealership & she will have the mechanic take a look at it... I stop by the dealership around 3:00 pm I go to the waiting area about an hour later Angell comes in with a LOOK? On her face & I ask what is wrong & she now says it needs a EBTCM? For parts & labor it would be another $1,691.16... I ask why it did this after they did the work to it? I was told because of the age of the vechicle etc. & she ask for me to decide if I wanted to keep putting money into it that I wouldnt get back, or did I want to trade it? So I ask another 2 or 3 times again about the master cylinder just like I did the first day I took it there. Cause I still didnt think that was the problem, when they told me I needed a new one on Tuesday. Which I had just put a new master cylinder on in January!!! So she told me I should probably trade it off... So I leave and on the way home... No brakes... Pedal to the floor. Just like it had been doing prior to taking to have it fixed... I start crying. Call my husband. Who is working in PA. I explain to him what I've been told...& that once again my brake pedal goes to the floor, just like before. He says he'll call them. So he does & calls me back & said he spoke to Angell & couldnt get anywhere... Just said they were sorry... But with the age of the vechicle etc. Probably need to trade it off? He said they just went back & forth & they just were not gonna work with us... I'm so upset spending alot of money thinking that my brakes were gonna be " good as new" like I was told... I questioned the master cylinder problem so many time. Knowing that it was a new one just replaced in January... What ever the problem is, its the very same problem that I took it in for. I told them when someone bled the system I would have brakes for a couple of days & then no brakes... The same when we had the new master cylinder puy on in January. Had great brakes for a couple of days. Then pedal to the floor...& in this case its the same. On the secound day after having all the work done I now have no brakes. Pedal goes to the floor... I had to call someone to come & tow my vechicle home...& the more I thought about it. That they just didnt want to help much other than saying they could fix it for an additional $1,691.16... Just like I had been told on Tuesday March 12 that they assured me that if I chose to let them do the work for $1,149.58 I would be good to go... Good as new & they stand behind their work? So as bad as I hated to do it... I stopped payment on the check for $539.58.. I had paid $600.00 in cash... I just dont know what to do... Cause they just wont work with us. Other than saying another $1,691.16 will fix it... I feel they did not fix the right problem in the beginning... Since I still have the very same problem as before & it costing me $1,139.58 for nothing...
