I purchase folding bicycle Vector P8 as 23.55 LBS model using Dahon corporate web site but company send bike with weight of 26LBS 13 OZ. At the time of ordering company web site indicate Vector V8 weight as 23.55 LBS. When the bike arrived, it was very frustrating that the correct weight is displayed as 26LBS 13 OZ. Advertized model does not meet up Vector P8 model weight that Dahon sold and company did not employ safety and quality control at production line using parts that make different weight not matching with advertized Dahon Vector P8 weight. Company was notified that weight does not meet the selected model and company responded that weight to be incorrect in some materials and was rectified as soon as they find. Website from which I've purchased the bicycle was saved and can proof ordered and purchased information on 12/22. The response I've received from Dahon shows that this company lacks auditing and quality control. The company is obviously misleading its customers by advertising the wrong bicycle weight. What is even worse than not admitting that is that Dahon switched the weight on their website without admitting it to their customers. This is scam. I've also learned that some bicycle parts for Dahon are manufactured in China and do not match Dahon weight. This may be due to the parts being made from different/wrong specification and materials for health and safety concerns.
The company corrected weight on web page for current model from 23.55lbs to 23.13OZ. Folding bike weight is highly important component for me and my wife as if you using a flight with limited luggage a bike weight are the vital. Appreciated your assistance if I can get bicycle with ordered weight or less than 23.55 LBS.
