I received a phone call from someone who stated that I had won third prize in some drawing and the prize had paritally been paid for but I needed to submit $100 to claim my prize and get my check delivered today.

I told him the following:
1 We have been warned about scams like this - he kept saying it was no scam.
2. If I had won some prize that I should not have to pay anything - he said I am not really paying much since I would get a check roday for over $99,000.
3. How had I won a prie - by shopping at (he named some stores).
4. I asked how was I going to get the check today from him - he said he was already in my state.
5. I asked him what state is that - said "you don't know what state you live in?"

I had to put a monetary damage amount or system would not allow me to move forward so I put in the amount of the prize to draw attention to scam not the $100 I was asked to pay.

This man called twice when I hung up on him. I then blocked his number in my phone. It was 1-876-480-5442.
