I ordered a Groupon which stated $100 of baked goods could be purchased for $50 from Negresco bakery. I used this groupon on 12/11. I received confirmation from the bakery in the form of an e-mail the same day. A month later, I still had not received the goods, so I e-mailed the vendor, Negresco. They sent me an e-mail stating that the order had not actually been processed, but they could only refund me for the cost of the shipping, which they did. I e-mailed Groupon, who responded asking for confirmation that I had actually followed the instructions, which I explicitly stated that I did. Following my reply to this, I received this e-mail:

"I'm sorry to hear that this Groupon isn't going to work out for you. Groupons make great gifts, so if you're not able to use it yourself, feel free to give it to a worthy recipient. You can always give an unused Groupon to a friend unless otherwise specified in that deal's Fine Print.

We do not issue refunds past 7 days from the purchase date unless there is an unresolvable problem with the business preventing redemption, or if you had a bad experience when you redeemed your Groupon.

If you need more help in terms of getting this sent out, we are happy to help.

Thanks for your understanding. If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know."

I have e-mailed back emphasizing the gravity of this situation: that is, I have paid for goods and not received a refund for it. Unless I receive my money back, I will not use Groupon again, and will further discourage all friends, colleagues, owners, et al in their engagements, business or otherwise, with Groupon.
