Miscellaneous

I had a problem with some scam messages being sent our to personal friends from my computer. I followed the yahoo help info and got the no. For pccareexperts.net... Called and was asked to give up control of my computer so they could diagnose the problem. Was told my computer was compromised, that it was a serious problem and that it would take an anti hacking specialist level 2 to fix it at a cost of well over $200. I was then told that they could fix it for a lesser charge of $199.95 which would cover me for a year against further problems. Again, I was asked to give up control of my computer to a certified technician who said it would take about 60-90 mins. To fix. After 20 mins. I received a call saying the job was done.
Afterwards, I went on line and saw that this company has scammed many people. I cancelled my credit card although the payment had already gone through. And now I have a creepy feeling, although I have had McAfee do a thorough scan and all seems to be well.
My question... Why aren't Yahoo aware of this problem since it is their site that directs users to this company of scammers?
