In late November I was contacted by a salesman for Access Long Distance and was told that due to our minimum use of long distance, we qualified for a lower phone bill.

We currently do (and did at that time) have our local and long distance phone service through Suddenlink. I asked the salesman at least three times if the service he was promoting was through Suddenlink, and he assured me each time, that Access Long Distance is the company that handles Suddenlink's phone services and he said I should see our monthly payment drop within the next couple of billing periods.
When we recieved a bill from Access Long Distance for $12.63 and I saw no changes on our bills in either December or in January I contacted Access via phone and discovered that they are not associated with Suddenlink in any way, and that the salesman had deliberately deceived me to make the sale. I requested that the account be closed and that the bill be canceled. I was told the account would be closed and was given a confirmation number, but that the bill couldn't be canceled. I called back a few minutes later to discuss the situation further with a supervisor, and I was told by a lady named Laura, very rudely, that I owed the bill because of services rendered. I told her the situation and requested to hear the recording of my conversation with the salesman. She told me they would locate the recording and that I would be contacted by a member of management within the next 24 hours. That was Wednesday, this is Friday. I want the bill to be canceled, due to the fact that the salesman representing Access Long Distance knowingly deceived me into requesting a change of providers. I further feel that if Access is a company of integrity, the salesman who did this should be properly repremanded.
