I received a call from VISA fraud prevention services about recent activity on my bank card. I knew I hadn't used my card for several days and told them it was not approved by me. The lady said that sometimes scammers like this test card numbers like this before hitting them with larger charges. Got my card cancelled and ordered a new one, as well as disputed this charge. I'm just glad it was brought to my attention or I may have not caught it before they charged more money.

EVERYONE, keep careful watch especially for pending transactions of $1.00.

Don't know if this is happening to random people from different banks, or if these scammers got ahold of records from a certain bank. Mine is Charles Schwab.
