On Dec. 3 I recieved a telephone call, she said she was with Fed-x and I would recieve a free phone card the next day around 10: A.M. I told her I was not interested. She wanted my birth date and social security number I would not give these to her. She kept aking to speak to my husband I finally told her he had passed away. She said her name was Janet White I asked for her telephone number she said it was 800-240-3231. After I hung up with her I called the number she gave me and found it was a non exiting telephone number.
I called the local sheriff's dept after I called her number back and found out it was a non exiting number, they said it was probably some sort of scam if someone showed up at my door the next day call them and they would come out right away. No one showed up.
Idid not think anymore about it until I got my AT&T phone bill this last Saturday and found a company called Teleuno Inc. Had put a charge of 5.95 listing them as my long distant carrier. I called At&t they took off the charges and told me to call this teleuno company. I did I talked to a David he told me he was in Miami Fla. I asked him what gave them the right to list them as my long distance carrier. He said Carmen Felix gave them permission on Dec. 3. I told him I did not give permission and did not want their service. He said he would dicontinue the service.
It did not click in my mind until much later that the call I recieved from this Janet White was probably this company.
