Miscellaneous

In short, Justcloud.com accepted my payment for their online backup service with certain parameters, but has removed or restricted features which were offered as part of the sale. After removing the feature, they offer an "upgrade" to restore it.

Examples are:
1. Ability to automatically backup files of up to 5GB (now restricted to 1GB);
2. Ability to automatically backup video files - no longer allowed as of about November;
3. Ability to backup files on an external drive - no longer allowed without backup; this was a key feature which caused me to opt for their service;
4. Purchase of additional machine licenses does not add storage - I purchased additional machine licenses which each came with 250GB of storage. The additional storage for each machine was later removed so that when my total reached 250GB (for three machines), I had run out of space.

This is a pretty clear case of a company engaging in deceptive conduct. I'm certain it would not be permitted under Australian law, and it's unlikely to be allowed under UK law either.

I paid in advance based on the product offering presented at the time. While they were acting within their very favourable (to them) terms and conditions as currently stated, this action amounts to a breach of faith.
