I received a letter and check (in the amount of $1994.60) on letterhead containing the company name Fairview Quality Assurance, Inc. The letter was delivered in an envelope posted from Canada. The letter contained a couple of small typos that were cause for concern.

When I used Google to search for the company name, nothing was found. I tried searching for the address and only an outlet mall was listed. I searched for the business on the Better Business Bureau site and again - nothing.

The letter contained specific instructions about depositing the check, withdrawing the funds and which amounts were to be used for shopping, transferring and transfer fees. The "Receivers Information" was listed as Harvey Williams in Madrid, Spain.

Total scam - please be advised!
