AVIS = Liars & Bad Business - car rental

I had a reservation with Thrifty but happen to stop in front of the Avis desk @ the Pittsburgh Airport. A black woman with a very low cut hair & glasses asked me if she could match Thrifty would I go with them. I told her sure if she can match it. She asked me the details of my reservation. I told her I have a full size unlimited miles and was keeping the car for 8 days. She told me should would honor it. I then signed for the price she agreed. After she ran my card she told me about an additional hold that will be put on the card. She told me not to worry if I bring the car back full that would be removed and I would just be paying the original agreed price. I brought the car back on full and I was charged an additional $75 on my bill. I spoke with Cindy who was suppose to be in management. She told me she would refund only $41. I told her that was not good enough for me. She then told me that she has never heard of any of the agents telling a customer if they bring the tanks back on full they won't be charged. I told her I had no reason to lie. I could tell in her tone she did not want to deal with my issue. She told me that she would have to do an investigation. I told her that I would pay an additional $15 because I brought the car back 1 hour late but nothing more. I was then told it will take 3 to 4 business days for someone to get back to me. I seriously doubt I will be hearing from them. I am a single mom and live paycheck to paycheck and because of the extra $75, I am not able to get my children's Christmas presents out of layaway. Thank you AVIS for making my family's Christmas extra special! I will NEVER rent from Avis again and I will tell everyone to stay away! They are lying thieves... Do not rent from avis!
