Well I have just about had it with the workers at Dunkin Donuts in Mount Prospect, IL. I probably go there once a week, and I have been going there for many many years. I have never experienced anything like today. My boyfriend and I visited the Dunkin Donuts after having a debate of whether or not we should even bother putting up with the quality of incompetent workers there. I guess we should have gone with our first decision because we just had the worst experience. The worker/manager was there by himself. We picked up a milkshake and he forgot to give us a straw. He walked away after we waived for his attention. He took another customer, looked at us and kept taking the customer. He came by the register by the window and walked away. We are usually people who stay away from any confrontation but had been waiting there for a good 10 minutes. Finally my boyfriend ran out of patience and knocked on the window. The worker yelled out, "Why are you knocking?!? Can't you see I'm busy?!?! I'm all by myself!" First of all, you didn't finish helping us out, you gave us no straw and no napkins. Second, it is not the customer's problem if you are under staffed and can't fully take care of your customers. Third of all, you're lucky my boyfriend didn't get out of the car to show you exactly where you could have put that milkshake and straw at. My entitlement to receive better service comes from the fact that I have payed money for a service. I expect to get what I payed for and the respect of the employee. Simply hire more people, or don't work there at all. I will never go back to a dunkin donuts and I will make sure everyone knows about the service there. The task was simple. It would have taken one second to finish the job. I hope no one ever experiences this because it makes you feel stupid for spending so much money on poor service. I hope someone does something about it. Needless to say, I took a couple of sips of the milkshake with no straw.
