Employment Application refusal

In trying to obtain employment, I contacted James Owen Law Firm, 730 Clark Street Paducah Kentucky 4 in regards to submitting an application for employment via fax. The person that answered the phone (Elaine) was VERY unprofessional and yelled at me that they were not hiring and it would not do me any good anyway, and to not waste the money or my time or the electricity. She stated she was refusing the application and continued to hassle me and make me feel like I was worthless. I hung up the phone crying and i was very discouraged to continue the job hunt, to try and support my family. If that is not enough, here is where it gets even more interesting. My adviser decided he would contact the law office and try to speak with the owner or supervisor to see if it was just a bad day or if there was a serious service issue. Here is the result: (Elaine) answered the phone. She was VERY apprehensive about letting him speak with James Owen. She treated him like he had no business calling about anything. Finally she yelled at him and stated ("I wish I had the authority to tell you what I think of you") Please keep in mind that he did ABSOLUTELY nothing to expect this type of treatment. He had just asked a couple of simple questions being: ("May I please speak with Mr. Owen.") He told her all he wanted to do was to speak with Mr. Owen about an employment matter. He finally reached James Owen and asked him if he had a business (which he does) if it would be legal for him to turn down an application for employment in Kentucky? (to not accept it). He got very defensive and gave him a very aggressive reaction. At the end of the phone call he told my adviser to "Take it somewhere else and go to Hell!" My adviser did not provoke this nor did I. I am worried for the individual that actually need his service and the potential clients that he may represent.
