Online scam

I signed up for survey from home for $2.95, then called and canceled over the phone and was promised I wouldn't be charged anymore fees. Then yesterday had a charge on my credit card for $39.95 I don't think this is very fair. I hope the people doing this are prosecuted to the fullest extent.
